A dream wedding project: a floral farm and modern barn in North Carolina, extensive florals, and beautiful, moody palette. We wanted to modernize the traditional invitation, so we utilized a geometric typeface combined with
bold brush lettering, and a blind deboss on a thick, cotton stock.
It was such a delight to work with Genevieve and Haydn on their wedding invitations. We strove for a classic yet contemporary suite. We chose a single dusty navy from their moody wedding color palette for the envelope, paired with a custom liner. The illustration featured hydrangeas, Genna’s late mother’s favorite flower.
The invitations featured modern typesetting and custom brush lettering. They were letterpress printed by my colleague at East Avenue Press. She did a wonderful job incorporating the hydrangea illustration as a blind deboss. The thick cotton stock rounded out the suite and felt wonderful against other textures at the wedding, such as velvet, satin, and linen.
